Frequently Asked Questions

  • You may need to take it to satisfy a court order.
  • The DMV requires you to attend a clinic. You must complete the entire eight hour course. If you fail to complete the clinic by the DMV deadline, your driving privilege will be suspended until you meet this requirement.
  • Your license has been revoked and you are required to complete the course as part of your reinstatement process.
  • You may also volunteer to take this course, if you are 20 and over and have a Virginia driver's license, and receive up to 5 safe driving points on your driving record.
  • Students who satisfactorily complete this 8-hour course can now also get insurance premium reductions. Individuals should contact their insurance companies to advise as to whether or not they offer this discount.
  • The Virginia DMV has reviewed and Approved this online clinic. If the DMV requires you to take a Driver Improvement Clinic and you meet the age requirements, you are eligible. Your court may or may not accept the certificate of completion. It is your responsibility to determine if your court accepts online driver improvement clinics.
  • If you are under age 20, you are not eligible to take a computer-based driver improvement course. To satisfy a DMV requirement, you must satisfactorily complete a driver improvement clinic that provides classroom instruction.
  • You can complete the course at your own pace logging on and off as many times as necessary to complete the course. However, keep in mind, the DMV or court has probably given you a deadline or due date by which you need to complete the course.

    You will receive your Certificate of Completion immediately after you have passed your 15 to 30 minute Final Exam, which you must take in-person at one our posted Test Areas. The "Test Areas" link is in our menu section. You will be permitted to take the final exam after we have checked your identification and verified that you have completed the 11 Sessions online. It is a student's responsibility to locate a testing facility before taking the course. Click on the Test Areas link in our menu section for more information on testing facilities.

    The cost of the course is null. You will pay this fee before you sit down at the computer to take the Final Exam at one of our Test Areas. Once you have passed the Final Exam you will receive your Certificate of Completion immediately. We accept null.

    There are NO special system requirements or downloads necessary to take this online course.

    1. To begin, return to our home page and click on the "Sign Up" button or on the "Sign Up (New?)" link in our menu section.
    2. Select your course.
    3. Fill out the registration form.
    4. Review the information and click on the "register" button.
    5. The list of sessions will appear. Click on the "start course" button to begin learning!

    No; you can log-in, re-enter, and take the course using any computer with any type of Internet connection.

    You can either go to our home page and click the 'Log In' button (under "Returning Student?") or you can click the 'Log In (Returning?)' link in our menu section. Then you will just enter your First Name, Last Name, and Birthday and click the "Login" button to resume the course. Don't worry, our student progress monitoring feature will allow to pick up exactly where you left off.

    You may review and retake the course online for FREE until you pass. However, per Virginia rules, you can only take the final exam once per calendar day.
